Cdj mode and vinyl mode.
Difference between vinyl and cdj mode.
However more and more expert djs are now beginning to use controller setups.
What are most djs using.
I use vinyl mode because i used vinyl before and in some way feel more connected with the record or the music this way when cueing the tracks up that old school feeling to work on the decks but i see some of the big name djs like fedde le grand is skipping the vinyl mode this days after he got into the 2000s with rekordbox prepared usb sticks and all the cues ready to go.
Cdj mode allows you to use the whole jogwheel to pitch bend temporarily show down or speed up the track.
For instance spinning the dial backward in this mode simply slows down the music rather than performing a vinyl like.
Please let me know what you guys like to use.
Uk djs check out http hotdjgear co uk harii from 5ivespace gives a quick beginners g.
Harii is here with a video to show you beginner djs just how to use your shiny new box of tricks.
I cant get to grips with vinyl mode but if this is what the majority of d b djs are using i will use my decks in this setting and get used to it.
They don t seem that different at first but there are obvious reasons why you will want to choose one over the other.
Should i use vinyl mode or cdj mode.
You ve just unboxed your brand new cdj and already you re confused do you use cdj mode or vinyl mode.
Most controllers with jogwheels on the market today have two modes.
Perhaps this was due to technical issues or simply because it was a new type of technology which certain djs simply couldn t trust.
Vinyl mode works more like an old school turntable letting you pitch bend using the sides of the jogwheel while continued.
