Digital Electric Meter Flashing Numbers

I was giving a demonstration with night vision goggles when i noticed that the electric meter on the side of the house was blinking with an invisible infrare.

I noticed on saturday that meter display is blank. If you have this meter you simply record the numbers for instance in figure 1 your reading would be 8304. It will cycle through this flashing routine in about 10 15 seconds. You are looking for specific letters as indicated in the image below.

Here reading 1 is 19937 and reading 2 is 11362. The meter is an ampy 5193a model. Keep your eyes on the meter. Once you find the electric meter you will notice a small lcd screen which flashes various numbers and letters during normal operation.

Read the numbers on the digital electric meter display. Failure to properly locate the decimal point will result in a reading that is grossly wrong. Derek this meter will need replacing. Write the numbers in your notebook.

Please note rate numbers can vary depending on your meter make and model. You can read from left to right or right to left. Pay particular attention to where the decimal point is. One of the meters is not flashing the numbers for the power meter.
